Blog Post 2: On research topic/issue with tentative 10 sources

 Hello,

Currently I have 8 tentative technical writing sources and 2 that are not from technical journals for my literature review.

The source titles are as followed:

Creating Content That Influences People: Considering User Experience and Behavioral Design in Technical Communication User Experience Methods in Research and Practice

Game Design Tactics for Teaching Technical Communication in Online Courses

The Aural-Visual Rhetoric in Video Game Tutorials

KNOWing How to Play: Gamer Knowledges and Knowledge Acquisition

The Game of Reading and Writing: How Video Games Reframe Our Understanding of Literacy

User-Centered Design as a Foundation for Effective Online Writing Instruction and The thing-power of Ring Fit Adventure as embodied play: Tracing new materialist rhetoric across physical and cultural borders.

The two sources that are not from scholarly sources that I will be using are 10 Usability Heuristics Applied to Video Games and an article about Video Game Design and User Experience.

Most of these sources are related to my topic and I look forward to reading and summarizing them for my annotated bibliography. These sources will allow me to see the bigger picture on user experience practices and how they are reflected within video game guides. When a user accesses a video game guide, the objective for the author of the guide is to make it as easy to navigate and use as possible while still utilizing effective design techniques. Overall, I believe these sources will present helpful research in my lit review and capstone.

  2. Most of my sources are from journal articles and website databases.

A topic that will most likely emerge from my bibliography is how specific features within a game are used to assist the player when translated into a guide format.

There is no information on the user experience within a video game guide.

Technical Communication Quarterly and Computers and Communication.
